I NEED HELP - WHAT CAN I DO?
You have a number of options available to you at John Therry for IT Support. We always recommend using the following process to provide you assistance:
Ask a friend or fellow student first. You never know!
Put your hand up in class and ask your teacher if they know how to help.
If the issue sticks around, RESTART! You would be supprised how many times an issue can be resolved by restarting your device.
If you still are unable to resolve your issue you will need to contac the IT Team (see below for options)
RESTART - WHATS THAT?
Depending on your device you can try a quick restart of your device and you would be supprised how often this resolves issues. Just like you, your device sometimes needs a refresh and this can be done by rebooting your device.
MacOS
Using the Apple Menu in the top right, select the restart option. A window will appear asking you to confirm.
BEFORE clicking the restart button, uncheck the reopen windows option as this forces all applications to close.
Your device will automatically power off and reboot. You will need to log in again after rebooting.
Windows
Press the windows flag in the task bar (for Windows 10 and earlier, this will be on the bottom left of the screen | for Windows 11 the windows flag is located near the bottom centre of your screen)
Locate the power icon and click it.
Now press the restart option. Your device will automatically reboot. You will need to log in again after rebooting.
ChromeOS
Click on the time in the task bar towards the right hand side of the screen.
Select the power button and wait for your device to power off.
After your display has powered off for 30 seconds. You will need to then press the power button and wait for your device to power back on. You will need to login again once your device has rebooted.

You have multiple options to contact the IT Team
You can browse the knowledge base system at https://help.dow.catholic.edu.au/
You can submit a ticket to the IT Team at the above site or by emailing the IT Team at help@jtccdow.catholic.edu.au (from your School Gmail Account)
You can come to the IT Office and get in person support. Just make sure you get permission from your teacher.
