Care of Your Device
Put On A Case
We strongly recommend to install a hard clamshell case to protect your device. Your device will be transported around in your school bag and a hard case will ensure that extra level of protection.
Often a case is the difference between a slight scuff or a broken display.
Keep Away Liquids
The worst thing to do is have an open container of liquid next to your laptop. It can easily be knocked over by yourself or someone close by.
Electronics don't like moisture and are expensive to repair. Often a liquid spill = a new computer.
Charge Your Device
Keep your device charged to get you through the school day. We recommend plugging it in over night. Never charge your device inside of a bag or underneath anything. If you cant make it thorugh the day we have charging facilities available in the Brother Clarence Library
Ventilation
Your device likes an air gap around it to ensure proper ventialtion for smooth operation. You may sometimes hear the fans in your device spin up and become loud. This is a warning your device is too hot.
Never use your device on a bed or near anything that covers the vents on the sides, back and bottom of your device.
Food
If you need to eat near your device we strongly recommend moving away from the keyboard as crumbs and debris can get stuck under the keys and make them hard to use or even inoperable. Some manufacturers will void a devices warranty because of food inside the keyboard.
Generally not eating infront of a computer is the best option.
Cleaning
If you find your device is a little grubby and you woud like to clean it there are a number of things you can do.
Most of the time a wipe with a microfibe cloth is the best way to clean your device. If this does not work, spray a little bit of water onto the cloth (never onto the device) and this will aid in the cleaning.
NEVER USE CHEMICALS TO CLEAN YOUR DEVICE
